Coolant G40 (red) Model: From 2014

Note:

G40 (red) should not be mixed with G48 (blue).
The coolant turns brown and could be viewed as corrosion.
Mixing is technically acceptable, because both are based on silicate.
The new coolant G40 is much more temperature-stable and thus it can
protect the cooling system longer against corrosion. If possible, replace
the G48 by G40. Prior (to the change), the cooling system/ heating
system should be rinsed once with water.
For special operating conditions (high engine temperature and high
mileage - taxi use) G40 is recommended.
